Testing of Ferrari.
Valentino Rossi was testing with the Ferrari team at Valencia's Ricardo Torme Cheste circuit 31 January, but his Yamaha team insists that the seven times world motorbike champion remains fully committed to defending his title next season. "He's a Yamaha rider this year and all parties are 100% aware he is testing F1 cars," said a Yamaha spokesman, while his agent said "Two wheels is his job, four wheels is his hobby." The contracts of both Ferrari's current drivers, Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello, expire at the end of 2006. Nonetheless Ross Brawn, Ferrari director, is keen to sign him up for the 2007 season, "We'd like to have him with us, because we believe the Ferrari-Rossi pairing is very alluring," he said.
