The Spanish Oscars.

As the Oscars loom ever nearer, more prizes for films are being handed out. 29 January night in Madrid the Goya Prizes were awarded. The Spanish Oscars went to "The Secret Life Of Words," which got 4 awards, followed by “Princesses” and “Camarón” that got 3 each. The Prize for Best European Film went to Woody Allen for "Match Point." Meanwhile in Hollywood, the Screen Actors Guild Awards went a totally different direction to the Golden Globe Awards, which has showered the Ang Lee film "Brokeback Mountain" with prizes. The SAG voted "Crash" the best ensemble acting in film, whilst Phillip Seymour Hoffman got the Best Actor award for his portrayal of author Truman Capote in "Capote," and Reese Witherspoon made off with the best actress award for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in "Walk The Line." Also making of with prizes last night were Rachel Weisz as best supporting actress in "The Constant Gardener" and Paul Giametti as best supporting actor in "Cinderella Man."
