Baby Leonor and Christmas shopping.
It was a rare public outing for Doņa Letizia, who has cancelled most of Queen public duties since the birth to look after her new daughter; the only exception being a reception at the Royal Palace on the 22nd November to mark the 30th anniversary of her father-in-law's succession to the throne. The Prince and Princess of Asturias arrived at a commercial centre in Alcobendas on the outskirts of Madrid 7 December, pushing a pram containing the future Queen Leonor of Spain. The couple put in some window shopping and popped into one or two stores to buy presents. This is not the first time the couple have done their Christmas shopping at the commercial centre, but this year they were joined by their daughter, who was under their constant supervision throughout the expedition. Leonor spent the trip mostly dozing, except for one bout of tears, which quickly petered in the arms of her father, who appears to have taken to his new role like a duck to water. Her facial features have developed to reveal more of a likeness to her father than her mother.
