The project of this hotel were designed by German conceptual artist Hans Schult. This is a strange colorful building created from 12 tonnes of garbage which was collected on the European beaches. But there some bad news. The life of this hotel was short. People could see it only one week.

Framework was made from wood and external walls were shingled by different kinds of garbage: parts of dress forms, dolls, old shoes, trunks cassettes, tape-recorders, household rubbish, treads, watches, books, newspapers, plastic bottles, cans, parts of computers, socks and many other things. The price of this project is over €0,5 millions. Sponsor of this project was Mexican beer company “Coronita”

Just this is not the first garbage hotel in the world. The first one was built in Rome in 2010 from one tonne of garbage.

Garbage Hotel in Madrid

The most interesting is that you can really spend a night in this hotel or simply to visit and to see everything with your own eyes. No doubt you’ll never forget this adventure. Moreover there are no any facilities. Only bio-toilet for ten men and refrigerator with beer bottles. But there are many bars and restaurants near this hotel which are ready to meet you up to the late night.

The interior is also connected with the theme of garbage. Rooms are arranged with old furniture which was found on the beaches. Breaked mirrors are on the walls, ragged carpets are on the floors.

Organizers want to attract the attention of world community to the increasing problem of environmental pollution including the world ocean and numerous beaches on the whole planet.

“This hotel built from garbage is the symbol the soul garbage which destroy us from within, – explains Schult.
